Questions, answered
The things media owners, agencies and brands ask us first.
What is DOOH audience measurement?
+
Digital out-of-home (DOOH) audience measurement counts the people who actually see a screen and characterises them, instead of estimating reach from traffic models. UrbanIQ does it with an on-device agent beside each screen that reports viewers, look rate, dwell time, view time and anonymous age, gender and emotion, all tied to the exact creative that was playing.
How is UrbanIQ different from modelled audience data?
+
Modelled audiences estimate who might have been nearby after a campaign ends. UrbanIQ measures the real audience in front of the glass, in real time, and separates people who genuinely looked from people who walked past. Every audience number is joined to a verified play, so reach is reported per creative, per screen, per second.
Does UrbanIQ use facial recognition or store images?
+
No. UrbanIQ detects heads, not identities. Everything is processed on the device at the screen, turned into anonymous, aggregated numbers, and the image is discarded. No faces, no identities and no images are stored or sent off the device.
Which digital signage CMS platforms does UrbanIQ work with?
+
Audience measurement works on any screen, because the UrbanIQ agent measures independently of the CMS. To join audience to each play, UrbanIQ connects to play logs from Broadsign, Doohly and OnSign, from any CMS verified by Seedooh, and from any HTML5 player through our tracking snippet.
What is proof-of-play and how does UrbanIQ report it?
+
Proof-of-play is evidence that a creative actually ran on a screen when it was booked to. UrbanIQ checks delivery against each booking automatically, surfaces under-delivery on its own, and produces certificate-style compliance reports with timestamped proof-of-play images and the measured audience for every play.
How long does it take to install?
+
Agents pair in about 30 seconds, calibrate themselves in minutes and update themselves remotely. There are no civil works, no network integration and no site visits needed for updates.
Who is UrbanIQ for?
+
Media owners and screen networks who want evidence-based rate cards, agencies who need independent, audit-ready campaign reports, brands who want to know who actually saw their creative, and venues such as shopping centres, retail media networks and stadiums that run their own screens.
Is UrbanIQ available in Australia?
+
Yes. UrbanIQ is built in Melbourne by iotopia Pty Ltd and designed around Australian privacy expectations. Book a demo and we will show you live audience data from a working screen.
